On Move-In Day, East Campus Apartment arrivals are asked to enter campus via Shepherd Road (please see directions), and follow signs to the designated parking/staging area.  West Campus Apartment arrivals are asked to enter campus via 11th street at Vachel Lindsay Dr and proceed to their designated check-in station.  East Campus Residents should follow the green signs, while West Campus Residents should follow the pink signs.

  1. Once you have parked near your designated area, students should enter the respective Residence Life Office to receive their keys and sign necessary paperwork while family, friends, etc unload the car onto the sidewalk area outside.
  2. Students are encouraged to bring their own hand carts to assist in unloading as Residence Life has a very limited number available during this busy time.

To aid in traffic flow, residents are asked to follow the driving directions below:

From the North using I-55, leave the interstate at Exit 90 for Toronto Road. Turn left (east) at the top of the exit ramp, proceed through the small business area, over a rail crossing, and past a Springfield Fire Department Station; follow the roadway as it curves left and passes CACC (Capital Area Career Center). East Campus: Continue to Shepherd Road, and turn left.  At University Drive, turn right and proceed to William Maxwell Lane.  Turn Left onto William Maxwell Lane and follow signs to East Campus Check-In.  West Campus: Following CACC’s campus, turn left (north) into the 11th St. extension road.  Residents of Pennyroyal and Foxglove Courts should report to the check-in station in the Pennyroyal-Foxglove parking lot, and residents of Marigold and Trillium Courts should report to the check-in station in the Marigold-Trillium parking lot as indicated on the map.  Residents should report to each of their respective areas check-in stations when they arrive.

From the South using I-55, leave the interstate at Exit 90 for Toronto Road. From the East using US 36/72, at the intersection with I-55, take I-55 South towards St. Louis and follow it to Exit 90 for Toronto Road. Students arriving after August 25, 2023 must contact the Residence Life Office to coordinate their check in.
