Please take a moment to view our Virtual Tours for a better idea of what your space may look like this summer.
When Should I Arrive?
- Move-in for Summer Housing residents is on Friday, May 29th, 2026. Students with internships starting on or before that date can request an earlier move-in by providing supporting documents to the Residence Life Central Office by emailing reslife@uis.edu.
- Students extending their contracts from Spring 2026 do not need to check out by May 10th, 2026, and will receive an email with instructions for a Summer Transition date.
- All students are required to adhere to a 72 hour transition period. Please contact the Summer Area Coordinator with any questions, or special requests regarding Summer Transition.
Checking In
- Upon check-in at the Housing Commons (HCOM – #20 on the campus map), students must present their i-Card or photo ID to receive keys for their Summer Assignment.
- Moving carts are available, but there are no volunteers for unloading.
- Students receive a Room Inventory form and keys, including front door, bedroom, and mailbox keys, for their spaces. It's important to review and report any discrepancies within 48 hours to avoid accountability during check-out. Students are responsible for their keys and may be asked to show them by Residence Life Staff at any time.
