New Student Application/Contract Process

This process applies to:

  • First year students
  • Transfer students
  • Incoming graduate students
  • Off campus students looking to make a change and live on campus

Apply in Just a Few Steps!

Step 1

Learn more about our Housing Options, Amenities, Living Learning Communities, and Residency Requirement information. Freshmen students typically live together in Lincoln Residence Hall where they have the opportunity to meet, live and interact with other Freshmen students. Transfer students with 60 or more credit hours earned after high school will be able to preference upperclassmen housing options.

Step 2

Login and Apply for Housing:

  • Visit the Student Housing Portal
  • In the blue bar near the top of the page, select Student Login
  • Login using your NetID and Password
  • In the blue bar near the top of the page, select Manage My Housing
  • Select the Housing Application/Contract you wish to complete
  • Submit the $250 deposit. This is a refundable $200 deposit and $50 application fee.
  • Fill out the Application/Contract, review the Terms and Conditions, and finally enter your UIN to sign the Application/Contract.
    • Under 18 Consent Form (pdf) – Please submit this form via email, fax or mail if you will be under the age of 18 when your Housing Contract term begins.

Step 3

For incoming Freshmen ONLY!

It is time to pick a roommate! Once you submit your application/contract, it is time to pick a roommate. The roommate matching period is typically May 1st through June 25th each summer. We do our best to honor all mutual roommate requests.

  • If your requested roommate is assigned to a full unit or is not a part of the same Living Learning Community, we will be unable to honor your roommate request.
  • We do not honor suite mate requests within the residence halls.
  • Requesting a roommate is not required; however, you will still be placed with a roommate. We do our very best to assign residents together that have the same interests and living habits.

Step 4

If you apply no later than June 15th, you will receive your assignment and roommate information by July 19th. If you apply after June 15th, you will receive your assignment and roommate information approximately 30 days before the start of the semester! Connect with your roommate and start planning for Move-In!
