All first-year students (commuter and living on-campus) are required to attend the third component of their Orientation, the First-Year (Freshmen) Fall welcome week programs Tuesday, August 16, Wednesday, August 17, and Thursday, August 18. Activities are schedule throughout each day so request off work now if you are going to be commuting from home and for students living on campus. If you attended Orientation in June you will move in on Tuesday, August 16. This is the third part of your orientation at UIS. Recent assessment of the Orientation program has found that students that participate in all sessions have higher grade point averages and are more likely to return to UIS in their second year than students that miss/skip sessions.
A draft schedule can be found on our welcome week page. *subject to change.
