Star Guides
Star Guides are undergraduates. First time members to the O-Team are selected because of their enthusiasm for, knowledge of, and involvement in the UIS Community. Star Guides assist in orienting new students and their parents to campus. Star Guides will facilitate small group discussions with students and answer questions that help to teach new students and families about campus resources, traditions, opportunities, and student expectations.

Lisa was a first generation college student and found her career pathway when she became an Orientation Leader and eventually worked for the Orientation department as an undergraduate. She has worked in higher education for over 25 years. Her experiences include Orientation, First-Year Seminar Instruction, Student Organizations & Leadership Development, Adult/Transfer/Commuter Student Programming, and Student Activities. Lisa has earned a BS in Advertising and a MS in Higher Education & Student Affairs.
