Canvas is a web-based course management learning system that UIS instructors can use to organize course content. Canvas allows instructors and students 24/7 access to their courses.
Online Office Hours
COLRS staff hold open office hours on weekdays that the university is open. We can assist with online, blended, and HyFlex pedagogy, Canvas, multimedia, accessibility concerns, and more!
Multimedia specialist, Scott Moomaw, joins office hours on Tuesdays and Fridays to assist with questions about videos.

HyFlex Teaching Workshop
The HyFlex (hybrid flexible) learning model is both a teaching format that bridges and blends the physical and digital classrooms and the pedagogy that informs the design of HyFlex learning. This session will cover:
- Pedagogical overview of HyFlex
- Instructional strategies
- Planning a HyFlex course session

Pedagogy, Andragogy, & Heutagogy
Pedagogy is the teaching of children, or dependent personalities. Andragogy is the facilitation learning for adults, who are self-directed learners.
