My journey into higher education began during my undergraduate years at Kentucky State University, where I was deeply engaged on campus. I started a book club, joined several student organizations — including Presidential Protégés and the Student Government Association — and became an active member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc.

How to Write a Scholarship Thank You Letter

Congratulations! You’ve won a UIS scholarship! This is exciting news. However, you have a bit of work ahead of yourself; to receive the scholarship, you must complete all required sections of the Google Form sent to you. This form includes prompts like Field of Study, Academic/Career Goals, and UIS Experiences. The form also requires the student to submit their Thank You Letter, which will be given to the donor that has funded the scholarship. Students will submit a Thank You Letter for each scholarship they receive.

In today’s media, we often hear terms like “divisive rhetoric” or “bad rhetoric,” which often gives a negative perception of rhetoric even if someone may not understand what it exactly is. At its core, it’s a term that has its roots dating back to ancient Greece. Back then, they focused on persuasion techniques and speech rather than written text. Now, rhetoric encompasses not only speeches and written works, but also visual rhetorics such as images and film.

These parts work together to better describe the circumstances and contexts of a piece of writing, which if understood properly, can help you make smart writing choices in your work.
