To all website editors and unit heads,

You spoke and we listened! The Web Team is excited to announce new website features designed to make editing and creating pages easier and more dynamic.

What’s New:

  • AI-Generated Alt Text: When uploading images to the Media Library, you’ll now see alt text is automatically generated using AI, making accessibility easier than ever. If you don’t like the description you get click the button to generate again and/or customize it yourself.
  • Image Card with Descriptions Block: Add visual interest to your pages with new image cards that include space for descriptions, perfect for showcasing programs, departments, or events.
  • Accordion Block: You can now insert accordion sections directly within the page editor (not just at the bottom), giving you more flexibility to organize content.

The web team will be migrating content from the original accordion field to the new accordion blocks over the next month. No action is required on your end but feel free to start using the new block! See the new AI Alt Text and More Custom Blocks features in action for more information.

We appreciate your continued feedback and ideas. These updates were built based on your suggestions!

If you have an idea for a new feature or custom block, let us know by emailing the web team at web@uis.edu.

Thank you for helping make the UIS web experience better for everyone!
