UIS provides a unique, student-focused educational experience that emphasizes learning in and outside of the classroom. Every measure has been taken with the utmost care and consideration to support safety for living, learning, working and training at UIS. We are United In Safety.

Fall 2022

UIS maintains an unwavering commitment to academic excellence and the health and safety of our campus community. Therefore, the initial vaccination series is required for all on-ground students, faculty and staff.

Face Coverings

Face coverings are required on campus in healthcare settings and are strongly encouraged in classrooms during in-person instruction, especially when community transmission is high. In settings where face coverings are not required, any individual who makes the personal decision to wear a face covering will be fully supported; however, no additional requirements for face coverings should be implemented at the unit, facility or event level.

See the full list of locations where masks are required.

Testing

All students, faculty and staff who live, learn or work on campus and are not fully vaccinated against COVID-19 must test once per week this fall. Testing will be monitored, and those out of compliance may face student or employee discipline. Shield testing is available for active-status students, faculty and staff only. UIS is no longer offering testing to the public.

Testing site location: WUIS Building, Classroom 28. Watch for signage within the building directing you to the testing site.
