Graduation & Degree Completion Information

Applying for Graduation/Indicating Intent to Graduate

Students planning to earn a degree must indicate their intent to graduate to the Office of Records and Registration. Students must submit an online graduation application whether they plan to participate in commencement or not.  It is important to complete this process by the posted deadline.  A mandatory graduation application fee will be charged to each student upon submission of the graduation application.

Student Record Policy

In compliance with Section 438 of the General Education Provisions Act (as amended) entitled “Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act” (FERPA), the following constitutes the campus’s policy which instructs students in the procedures available to provide appropriate access to personal records, while protecting their confidentiality.

A. Certain definitions and principles contained in the FERPA guidelines are specifically adopted in the policy:

Transcripts

Requesting an Official Transcript

The Office of Records and Registration at the University of Illinois Springfield will issue official transcripts of a student’s academic record at the University upon request of the student (note: telephone and email requests are not honored). Transcripts can only be released directly to the student or to a person or entity designated by the student (please note that a photo ID is required when picking up a transcript in person).
