The Office of Web Service (OWS) has developed the functionality to create mailing lists, add a subscription sign-up form to your site, and send newsletters of your units most recent articles to your mailing list subscribers.

Mailing lists can be imported into the site or a new mailing list can be created to store subscribers.

Once a mailing list is created, a Mailing List Subscription block can be added to a page(s) to provide the option for new subscribers to sign up.

Since finalizing the migration of the uis.edu website from WordPress to Drupal, the website numbers have continued to improve. The numbers for August continue that trend, hitting a record high since site launch of over 1.1M pageviews. That is the highest number of pageviews we have received in August since 2013! The bounce rate is also still trending low at 1.93%.

Orbit is a great resource to post your upcoming employee event! You can post your events to the Orbit homepage by selecting ‘Employee’ as the event type. By adding your events to the Orbit site website, we can make it a one-stop shop for all our UIS employees!

New Featured Profiles Pages

We have added some new content to sites that you may have noticed. The PR team has been working hard to add student profiles for each of the academic areas. OWS has added Featured Student pages to the Academic sites to showcase of the great students we have at UIS. You can add more featured students to your page as well! The website continues to show dramatic improvements in site performance post-migration. 

The pageviews continues to increase from June to July by an overall 5.05% for 838,650 pageviews. The average time on the page also went up to 1.64% The bounce rate is holding strong at 1.14%.

The University of Illinois Springfield Office of Web Services launched a new website design on the Drupal content management system, and migrated from WordPress a year ago June 1st. The goal of the update was to modernize the look and feel of the site, improve sharing capability of content and content architecture, audit content for accessibility and usability issues, resolve security related issues, and the improve site performance. All of these factors improve site rank on search engines, and boost our web presence.
