Come join the Problem-Based Learning Community

Experience how the PBL framework can improve critical thinking and reduce bias.

Facilitators from the Alliance for Experiential Problem-Based Learning will use an interactive scenario to highlight the four steps to building your students' confidence making evidence-based decisions. This will be the kickoff for this year-long learning community through which you will learn how to create your own problem-based learning sessions for your discipline with training and advice from the Alliance staff.

Explore the software tools that are available to faculty at UIS to enhance your teaching and scholarship. This session will provide an introductory overview of numerous tools, with the option to arrange more in-depth group or individual sessions for those tools you're eager to explore further.

We are so excited about the 30+ classrooms that have been upgraded over the summer with new technology.

Join us Tuesday at 11:30am in UHB 1007 to see the new features – including a new control panel, a second monitor, an annotating monitor, bring-your-own-device capabilities, and easy-to-use control units to manage the technology.

Measuring learning outcomes is not just an important aspect, but a vital one in ensuring that a college-level course leaves a lasting impact on the students.

In this session, participants will learn how to create clear and specific assessment criteria that will help them to effectively evaluate student performance. They will also gain a deeper understanding of how to use data to make improvements to the course.
