Dear Colleagues:

Happy Friday — our last day before UIS Commencement!

Thank you for a wonderful 2022-23 academic year and for ALL you have done to serve our students, both in and out of the classroom, to help them meet their academic and personal goals. I know those of us watching our newest wave of UIS graduates walk across the commencement stage tomorrow will be filled with immense pride.

I also want to express my gratitude for working alongside me during my first year as chancellor, as we’ve gotten to know each other, navigated significant change and worked to fill key leadership positions. Together, we have accomplished a lot and made positive progress to benefit our university and, most importantly, our students. I encourage you to take a moment to reflect on your personal accomplishments and those we’ve made collectively as a university.

As we approach summer, I hope you enjoy the season, find time to rejuvenate and relax, and prepare for a new academic year with anticipation and promise. Academic Year 2023-24 will be yet another successful year as we continue to make UIS a “star” institution!
