Jordan Serrahn and Kaleigh Inniss opened competition for the UIS women's track and field team at the Bryan Clay Invitational in Azusa, Cal., on Wednesday.

The two distance runners competed in the first heat of the 10,000 meters during the morning session. Inniss placed 14th with a time of 36:51.01, followed by Serrahn in 37:16.48. Both marks are season bests for the runners.

Although their times don't crack the current GLVC top five, both runners are positioned well to remain inside the conference's top-24 qualifying range for the GLVC Outdoor Championships once performance lists are updated.
