The UIS women's tennis team opened Great Lakes Valley Conference play with a 6-1 loss to Missouri-St. Louis on Friday. The Prairie Stars move to 0-8 overall and 0-1 in GLVC action.

- UIS showed fight in doubles, but UMSL claimed the point after securing all three matches. Carmen Llopis Fabra and Ema Norma Bordean battled in a close 6-4 loss at No. 1 doubles, while the pairings of Niamh Grogan and Kamila Kalinowska, and Man Naum and Cristina Mendoza Romero each fell 6-2.
- Llopis Fabra earned the Prairie Stars' lone point of the day in a No. 1 singles win, taking the match 6-1, 4-6, 6-4.
- Ema Norma Bordean was defeated 6-4, 6-2 at No. 2 singles. Niamh Grogan lost 6-2, 6-2 at No. 3, Cristina Mendoza Romero fell 6-3, 6-0 at No. 4, and Man Naum was defeated 6-0, 6-0 at No. 5.
