Rosie Bartletti of UIS softball has earned the title of Jimmy John's Athlete of the Month for February 2025, demonstrating an outstanding all-around performance that has been crucial to the Prairie Stars' strong start to the season.

Bartletti, a pitcher and utility player, has been a significant contributor on both sides of the game. Offensively, she has maintained a team second-best .389 batting average, along with a .583 slugging percentage and a .425 on-base percentage. Her 14 hits include a double and three triples, underscoring her ability to get on base and provide power in the lineup. Additionally, she has 10 RBIs and 9 stolen bases on 11 attempts, showcasing her speed and overall effectiveness in generating scoring opportunities. Among GLVC players, she ranks second in stolen bases and is one of only six players in the conference with three triples.

While her offense has been impressive, it's in the circle where Bartletti stands out in the conference. In February, she struck out 41 batters over 29.0 innings pitched while maintaining a solid 3.86 ERA. Her standout performances included 12 strikeouts against Thomas More, 10 strikeouts in a complete-game win against Purdue Northwest, and eight strikeouts against Central Missouri. Bartletti ranks third in the GLVC in batters struck out.

The junior also contributes significantly to the defense as a utility player, frequently taking the field at second base. Her defensive skills in the middle infield have been key to maintaining control for the Prairie Stars throughout the season.

Bartletti's ability to consistently contribute in all aspects of the game has made her a vital player in UIS Softball's early success, and she is poised to continue making an impact as the season progresses. 

All Jimmy John's Athlete of the Month award winners from the 2024-25 year will be recognized at the annual Night of Stars banquet at the end of the spring semester. These honorees will also be considered for the UIS Male Athlete of the Year and UIS Female Athlete of the Year awards at the conclusion of the current year of competition.
