Madelyn Miller, a junior on the UIS track & field team, secured Second Team All-America honors with a 10th-place finish in the 5,000-meter run at the NCAA Division II Indoor Track & Field Championships on Thursday, marking her first national championship appearance and earning All-America status in her debut.

Miller ran 16:38.16, finishing within a second of her personal best and edging out athletes from the University of Mary and Grand Valley State.

This performance caps a standout season for Miller, who was named All-GLVC, All-Region, and Second Team All-American, and set school records in three indoor distance events.

A Look Ahead
Miller and the Prairie Stars now turn their focus to the outdoor season, which begins on March 28 at WashU in St. Louis.
