llinois Springfield head volleyball coach Kamille Jones has announced her resignation after four seasons as the leader of the Prairie Stars. She has accepted the head coaching position at Chicago State University.

"I have enjoyed my time serving at the helm of this program," said Jones. "I am grateful for so many relationships I've had the opportunity to cultivate across campus and within the Springfield community. I will miss this team dearly, but am certain that they will continue to leave their mark on the legacy that is UIS Volleyball. I thank Chancellor Gooch and Director of Athletics Mike Hermann for entrusting me to elevate this program over the past four seasons. I wish everyone continued success."

"Kamille improved our volleyball program during her time as head coach, plus she was active on campus and within the GLVC," said UIS Director of Athletics Mike Hermann. "We are grateful for her contributions and wish her the best in her new role at Chicago State."

Jones took over the UIS program in 2021 and made an immediate impact. In her first season, she orchestrated a dramatic turnaround—improving the team's GLVC record from 3-15 to 10-8. The Prairie Stars jumped from 14th to seventh in the conference standings and earned a spot in the GLVC Tournament.

UIS also returned to the conference tournament in both 2022 and 2024, most recently capping an 18-win season with another GLVC postseason appearance last year.

Over her four seasons, Jones guided the Prairie Stars to an overall record of 53-56 and coached four All-GLVC selections, including two-time honoree Eirini Glynou and 2024 first-team selection Makenna Cox.

A national search for the next head coach of UIS Volleyball is currently underway.
