Please joins us for the April Employee Development Session: Search Committee and Search Chair Orientation. This session will be presented by the UIS Access and Equity Office and a panel of experienced search chairs and search committee members.

Effective hiring for the university is critical to our long-term success as a learning institution that serves its students and staff well. Attracting and hiring outstanding people is the goal of every Academic Professional and Faculty search committee -- the better our search teams run, the better our faculty and staff will become.

All faculty and staff may be asked to participate on a search committee. If you have ever considered serving on a search committee, and you want to learn more about it, this session is for you. If you have previously served on a search committee, but you need a refreshed on the process, or you want to learn more about becoming a search chair, this session is for you.

In this session, attendees will:

  • Learn what it takes to be an effective search committee member.
  • Learn how to be an effective search committee chair.
  • Learn how you can support your search committee as a hiring manager.

The session will be in-person in PAC 154 from 10 to 11:30 a.m.
