Employee Development Series: Search Committee and Search Chair Orientation

Please joins us for the April Employee Development Session: Search Committee and Search Chair Orientation. This session will be presented by the UIS Access and Equity Office and a panel of experienced search chairs and search committee members.

Effective hiring for the university is critical to our long-term success as a learning institution that serves its students and staff well. Attracting and hiring outstanding people is the goal of every Academic Professional and Faculty search committee -- the better our search teams run, the better our faculty and staff will become.

End of Academic Year Party

We are excited to announce that the theme for the 2024 End of Academic Year Party will be Decades! We encourage you and your colleagues to embrace your favorite decade and join us as we celebrate the end of another academic year at UIS. Costumes are permitted to add an extra flair to the celebration. Prizes will be given for best costumes! If dressing up isn’t your style, come as you are and join us for activities, some good tunes, and even better food!

Annual Evaluations for Academic Professional and Civil Service Employees

The Annual Evaluation Process for Academic Professional and Civil Service employees has begun!  Human Resources is pleased to present an updated electronic version of the Annual Performance Evaluation to be used as of April 1, 2024.  While the structure, categories, and rankings should all look familiar, we made some minor changes to its functionality. As a reminder, supervisors will assign self-evaluations to their individual employees.

Take Your Child To Work Day

The Office of Human Resources presents the second annual Take Your Child to Work Day on April 25! We have a fun-filled day planned to include a dorm tour, a police demonstration, and a tour of the new E-Sports Arena. We welcome up to 20 kids aged 11-15 years old to come and join us for the afternoon, but everyone is welcome to bring their child to work outside of our planned activities.
