The next Employee Development Series will be an Employee Mental Health and Wellness session presented by Jim Klein. This event will take place in the Student Union Center Ballroom from 9:00-11:00am on August 25, 2026.
Construction and Project Updates
Library Commons
Construction continues to progress on schedule. Crews have completed major concrete work on the upper floors and penthouse, continued exterior framing and utility installation, and begun preparations for mechanical systems, fireproofing, and roofing.

Civil Service Testing and Rules- What You Should Know
Please join us for the June session of the Employee Development Series! This month will focus on Civil Service Testing and Rules: What You Should Know presented by Amber Fosdyck and Madison Vangunten. Topics will include classification information, requesting/editing a position, job audits, and the Civil Service testing process.

University Hall Environmental Controls Upgrade
UIS electricians began work this week alongside external contractors to upgrade the environmental controls in UHB. Work will primarily be focused on floors 1 through 3 of University Hall.

Registration is still open for Take Your Child to Work Day on April 23, 2026! We have a full afternoon planned that includes a dorm tour, exercise science activity, E-sports, and more. We welcome up to 20 kids, aged 10-15 years old (7-9 years old with a parent present), to come and join us as we explore UIS.
