Construction and Project Updates

Trillium Court Roof Replacement

Roof replacement at Trillium Court is the next major project for F&S. Henson Robinson will begin work the first week of October. The project is expected to take about 25 working days, but the weather will be the factor that ultimately determines the actual timeline. Fingers-crossed for a mild, dry October!

Public Affairs Center

The PAC Plumbing Infrastructure Renovation Project has been completed and the first floor has reopened!

Construction gates have been removed, restoring access to the building's main entrance area. In addition, the PAC tunnel system has reopened, allowing normal pedestrian traffic through the building. Facilities & Services continues to complete final cleanup and closeout activities associated with the project.

Some first-floor occupants are still in the process of moving back into their offices and workspaces. We appreciate the campus community's patience as these transitions continue. Several first-floor conference rooms remain unavailable at this time. Information regarding the status and future availability of these spaces will be shared by the UIS Performing Arts Center at a later date.

Thank you to the campus community for your patience and cooperation throughout this renovation. Your support has helped make important infrastructure improvements that will serve the campus for years to come.

Classroom Scheduling

With the fall semester settling in please keep the following reminders in mind as we work together to maintain quality learning environments for students, faculty and staff.

No Food and Drink Reminder

Food and drinks are not permitted in university classrooms. This helps protect classroom carpeting and furnishings, reduce pest concerns and maintain clean learning spaces.

Parking Operations

UIS Parking Operations is reminding the campus community about parking regulations, including the proper use and display of parking hang tags.

Parking permit requirements

All vehicles parked on university property must display a valid UIS parking permit. Hang the permit from the rearview mirror with the permit number visible from outside the vehicle.

Your permit type determines where you may park:

Permit type	Parking location
Economy (yellow)	Valid in any economy lot.
Standard (blue)	Valid in any standard or economy lot.
PERKS	Valid in the designated parking space that corresponds to the hang tag number. Also valid in standard and economy lots.
Residential	Valid in the residential lot specified on the hang tag. Also valid in Lot I-South and Lot J.

If you have not purchased your parking permit, visit the Parking Operations website to choose the permit that best suits your needs and purchase it there.

Reminder to faculty and staff: you can pick up permits in BSB 43 between 10:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m., Monday through Friday. If you prefer to receive your hang tag through interoffice mail, please email parking@uis.edu and include your current office number or mailstop in your request.

Overnight parking

Overnight parking from 1-6 a.m. is permitted only in residential parking lots.

Students, faculty, and staff traveling on official university business with a valid, current parking hang tag may park overnight from 1-6 a.m. in Lot B-East or Lot I-North.

Lot D Closure

Lot D is closed on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays through Oct. 25.

Parking violations

Improper parking may result in tickets and fines. Following these guidelines helps ensure fair access to parking for the entire campus community and helps avoid unnecessary penalties.
