Christopher Stevens earned his Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from the University of Illinois Springfield in 2021 after transferring from the University of Iowa. He stayed at UIS to earn his Master of Arts in Human Development Counseling in 2023.  

Today, he works as a mental health counselor in Charlotte, North Carolina, helping people work through challenges and improve their well-being.

Madison Steines was chosen as the 2025 Psychology Graduation Marshal.

Dr. Brianna Werner graduated from the Psychology Department at UIS in 2014 where she was actively engaged in under-graduate research. Under the supervision of Dr. Frances Shen and Dr. Sheryl Reminger, she conducted studies that examined military Veteran college experiences and adjustment.

She earned a Ph.D. in Counseling Psychology at the University of Southern Mississippi in 2019.

Dr. Kent Schafer graduated from the Psychology Department at UIS in 2003.
