Shades: She Fought For This- The History of Women’s Rights

Step into a guided journey through the history of women’s rights and the policies that made change possible. This experience highlights key moments, movements, and voices that shaped progress over time, showing how rights were challenged, fought for, and ultimately secured. Come learn how the past connects to the present—and why this history still matters today. We will be in the Diversity Center Lounge (Student Life Building, suite 22). Sponsored by the Women’s Center and Queer Student Ambassador Program.

Shades: Power to the Student

Join us for Shades from 3–5 pm!

Shades is a discussion-based event series open to all UIS students, faculty, and staff. Our goal is to create a safe, affirming space to explore identity while bringing together QTPOC (Queer & Trans* People of Color) students and allies on campus.

This week’s Shades, Power to the Students, will focus on student rights and campus policies. Together, students, faculty, and staff will engage in open dialogue about how to use your voice, understand your rights, and navigate campus systems.
