Celebrating 21 Years of Theatre that Matters

Fall 2023 - THE THANKSGIVING PLAY by Larissa FastHorse

  • Directed by Eric Thibodeaux-Thompson
  • Scenic Design and Technical Direction by Dathan Powell

Good intentions collide with absurd assumptions in Larissa FastHorse's wickedly funny satire, as a troupe of terminally "woke" teaching artists scrambles to create a pageant that somehow manages to celebrate both Turkey Day and Native American Heritage Month. ~ from the Concord Theatricals/Samuel French Acting Edition back cover of the play

"The familiar, whitewashed story of Pilgrims and Native Americans chowing down together gets a delicious roasting from expert farceurs."~ The New York Times

"A satirical and visual punch."~ New York Stage Review

"Very, very funny. Larissa FastHorse's The Thanksgiving Play skewers liberal pretensions with glee - this clever satire is something for which to be truly thankful." ~ Hollywood Reporter

Spring 2024 - JOHN PROCTOR IS THE VILLAIN by Kimberly Belflower

  • Guest Directed by Rhys Lovell
  • Scenic Design and Technical Direction by Dathan Powell

At a rural high school in Georgia, a group of lively teens are studying “The Crucible” while navigating young love, sex ed, and a few school scandals. Holding a contemporary lens to the American classic, they begin to question who is really the hero and what is the truth, discovering their own power in the process. Alternately touching and bitingly funny, this new comedy captures a generation in mid-transformation, running on pop music, optimism, and fury, writing their own coming of age story.

  • Winner of the Helen Hayes Award for Outstanding Production of a Play.

  • “Biting and exquisite.” —MD Theatre Guide.
