UIS Community,

The UIS Police Department would like to remind everyone of a couple emergency tests coming up this week.  Tomorrow is the first Tuesday of the month, which means at 10am tomorrow, we will all hear the monthly test of the severe weather sirens.  The following day, there will be an additional component, the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) Nationwide Emergency Alert Test.  This test will be conducted at 1:20pm on Wednesday, October 4th.  During this test, every TV, radio, and cell phone is scheduled to receive an electronic warning tone, along with a brief explanation of the test details.  This test should last approximately 1 minute.

On Tuesday, November 7th, the UIS Police Department will be testing the UIS Rave Notification Systems during the monthly severe weather sirens.  This test will be conducted to test and identify any communication shortfalls within our emergency communication channels to make sure we can reach the largest population of our campus community in the event of an emergency.  Stay tuned for more information on our UIS systems test!
