The Third Annual Defenders of the Innocent Award Reception was held on May 24, 2010 at the Illinois Executive Mansion.

The event was underwritten by a generous donor. All contributions go in their entirety directly to the work of the Downstate Illinois Innocence Project.

Profiles in Courage Awards

The Profiles in Courage Award was presented to former ISP Lt. Ed Cisowski, former Deputy Illinois Attorney General Mary Hayes (Brigid Kenney), and former DuPage County Sheriff Detective John Sam for their personal sacrifices in the Cruz Case.

Pro Bono Awards

• Feldman, Wasser, Draper & Cox – for their work on the McMillen case
• Gates, Wise & Schlosser, P.C. – for their work on the Slover case
