Testing and inspection of the fire alarm systems will be wrapping up on Monday, January 9, with testing of detection devices, mostly those that detect smoke. No horns will be sounded as part of these final tests but the smoke detectors will beep intermittently. You should not ignore any horn alarms sounding outside this schedule or horn alarms that sound for a prolonged period of time.

  • Smoke detection devices in elevators at the Health & Sciences Buidling (HSB), Public Affairs Center (PAC), and Student Union will be tested. The elevator service interruptions should be brief.
  • University Hall Buidling (UHB), floors 2, 1, and lower level - various devices on these floors will be tested.

You may see technicians and F&S crews in all of these buildings today as they also conduct final visual inspections.

Please don't hesitate to call us if you have any questions about today's fire alarm system inspections and testing.

Thank you,
