The following message was sent to UIS students regarding the Intent to Participate form being available for students eligible to participate in this year's Commencement ceremonies.

Planning to Participate in Commencement? Take Action NOW!

Students planning to participate MUST complete the following steps:

Step #1 – Confirm Participation:

Earlier today personalized emails were sent to all students who are eligible to participate with a link to the online Intent to Participate form. Students planning to participate MUST confirm participation by submitting this form AS SOON AS POSSIBLE, but no later than March 25.  Students who do not confirm their participation by the deadline will NOT be allowed to participate.  Only those who are eligible will be able to submit their intent to participate.

Step #2 – Purchase Regalia (Cap and Gown):

Upon submission of the online Intent to Participate form, graduates will receive a link to purchase their regalia and other items (such as invitations) through Herff Jones. Students making special cap and gown arrangements (e.g., borrowing a black cap and gown) must still confirm their participation by submitting an online Intent to Participate form.

Tickets will be required for admission into each ceremony.  In addition, the ceremonies will be livestreamed and there will be a large amount of overflow seating provided that will not require a ticket.  Additional information will be available soon regarding the number of tickets that will be issued, etc. In the meanwhile, please continue to check the UIS Commencement website for important updates.

Please direct any questions to  Congratulations to all graduates!
