The Office of Web and Digital Strategy (previously known as the Office of Web Services) is committed to ensuring that our digital resources continue to serve our community effectively and securely. To further this commitment, we have scheduled a maintenance window for the UIS.edu website. This maintenance is an essential step in keeping our digital infrastructure up to date and secure.

Scheduled Maintenance Details:

  • Date: Monday, March 4th
  • Time: 7:00 AM - 8:00 AM
  • Impact: The UIS.edu website will be temporarily inaccessible during this period. You may also not be able to make updates to the site during this time.

Purpose of the Maintenance: The primary goal of this maintenance window is to perform a core update to our website’s Content Management System, Drupal. We will be upgrading from Drupal 9.5 to Drupal 10. This upgrade is crucial for several reasons:

  1. Enhanced Security: Drupal 10 introduces improved security features that will help protect our website from potential threats.
  2. Better Performance: The upgrade will bring enhancements that improve the speed and responsiveness of our site, providing a better experience for all users.
  3. New Features: Drupal 10 comes with new functionalities that will allow us to offer more dynamic and engaging content.
  4. Future-Proofing: Staying current with Drupal versions ensures that we can easily implement further updates and take advantage of ongoing improvements and support.

What This Means for You: During the maintenance window, we ask that you refrain from attempting to access or update the website. Please plan any website-related work around this schedule to avoid any inconvenience.

Support and Questions: We understand that this maintenance may impact your plans, and we appreciate your patience and cooperation as we work to enhance our website’s capabilities. If you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact the Office of Web and Digital Strategy at webservices@uis.edu.

Thank you for your understanding and support as we continue to improve our digital services to better serve the UIS community.
