The Illinois Springfield men's golf team is set to kick off its fall season at the Arch Cup, taking place on Tuesday, Sept. 2. The event will begin with tee times starting at 8:00 a.m. at Gateway National Golf Club in Madison, Ill.

This competition marks a significant milestone as it is the first for UIS under the direction of the program's new head coach, Josh Edison. Coach Edison steps into his role with the team bringing a fresh perspective to the UIS golf program.

The UIS lineup for the Arch Cup will feature Julien Babineau, Jake Baldin, Sacha Lamraski, Vilgot Arleback, and Peyton Woods. In addition, Daniel Edwards, Charles Prins, William Bomkamp, and Jack Turnbull will compete as individuals.

The UIS team has seen some exciting additions over the summer, integrating four freshmen and a junior transfer into its roster. These new team members are expected to bring fresh energy and talent to the course, complementing the existing squad of experienced returners.

UIS will be competing against a strong field of teams, including the host school Missouri-St. Louis (UMSL), as well as Lewis, Quincy, Washburn, Maryville, Missouri Baptist, William Jewell, and Drury. The early-season tournament will provide a strong test and an opportunity for UIS to showcase its depth against multiple GLVC opponents.

For those interested in following the event, live scoring will be available online, allowing fans and supporters to stay updated with the team's performance throughout the day.
