The UIS men's golf team is set to embark the fall 2025 season, facing a series of competitive tournaments. As the Prairie Stars prepare for this critical stretch, first-year head coach Josh Edison is eager to lead the team through a lineup of challenging events.
The fall season kicks off with the UIS men's golf team participating in the Arch Cup, hosted by Missouri-St. Louis. This event will take place from Sept. 2 at the Gateway National Golf Club in Madison, Ill. This marks the first official athletics competition for UIS of the 2025-26 academic year and promises to be a test of the team's readiness and skill against regional adversaries.
Later in September, the team will travel to Indianapolis, Ind., for the UIndy Fall Invitational, which runs from Sept. 22-23 at the Broadmoor Country Club. This tournament will provide a great opportunity for the team to compete against some of the top talent in the region.
The Prairie Stars will then head to Peru, Ind., to participate in the Midwest Collegiate at the Rock Hollow Golf Club on Sept. 29-30. This event will further test the team's abilities and offer valuable experience on the links.
In October, UIS will compete in the Bearcat Dual Gender tournament, hosted by McKendree University at Far Oaks Golf Club in Caseyville, Ill., on Oct. 20-21. This unique event allows both men's and women's teams to showcase their talents.
The fall season concludes with the Kentucky Wesleyan Invitational, taking place from Oct. 25-26 at The Pearl Club in Owensboro, Ky. This tournament will be another critical opportunity for the Prairie Stars to solidify their rankings and gain momentum heading into the spring season.
First-year head coach Josh Edison expressed his enthusiasm for the upcoming season, saying, "I'm thrilled to begin my first season leading the Prairie Stars and the opportunities ahead for both our men's and women's programs. Our fall schedule is loaded with strong competition that will challenge us early and help set the tone for the rest of the year. We're looking forward to making the most of every tournament this fall and building momentum heading into the spring."
