The UIS men's cross country team will open its 2025 season on Friday, Sept. 5, at the 10th Annual Prairie Stars Invitational. The men's 7K race is scheduled to start at 6:15 p.m. at the UIS Cross Country Course on the east side of campus, just off University Drive.

The Invitational features a competitive field, including Great Lakes Valley Conference teams Missouri-St. Louis (UMSL), Quincy, and Truman State, as well as several teams from Central Illinois, including Blackburn, Heartland, Illinois College, and Millikin.

Top returners Noah Tegeler and Joey Karlesky are expected to lead a talented group of experienced runners, including both returning athletes and transfers, while the program's freshmen will make their first collegiate appearance.

The meet also coincides with the first-ever UIS Cross Country & Track Alumni Weekend, honoring the program's history and giving past athletes a chance to reconnect with teammates and coaches.

Admission and parking are free, and live scoring from TRXC Timing will allow fans to follow the race in real time.

With a strong lineup and a celebration of the program's legacy, the 10th Annual Prairie Stars Invitational promises an exciting season opener for athletes, alumni, and fans alike.
