The Illinois Springfield women's golf team earned a third-place team finish at the Bill Crabtree Invitational, hosted by Kentucky Wesleyan at The Pearl Club in Owensboro, Ky. The Prairie Stars finished at +42 after rounds of 304 and 314, trailing only Maryville (+35) and McKendree (+38) in the seven-team field.

UIS senior Elaine Grant led the way with a strong third-place individual finish at +5 (73-76). Grant's opening-round 73 positioned her among the leaders, and she closed out the tournament with another steady round to secure a top-three result.

Valentina Torrealba finished 10th overall at +10 (75-79), while Yi-Ting Hsieh tied for 11th at +11 (74-81). Lia Rody carded rounds of 82-78 to tie for 17th at +16, and Fizreen Ahmadfadzir rounded out the UIS lineup tied for 25th at +21 (82-83).

"We saw another standout performance from Elaine this week—she continues to be such a steadying force and really lifted the team when we needed it most," said head coach Josh Edison. "Fizreen came out firing with a spectacular opening nine of 36, which set the tone early. Valentina and Yi-Ting both delivered strong first rounds that kept us right in the mix from the start, and I loved the way Lia bounced back in round two to close things out strong. All in all, another solid top-three team finish and a lot of good momentum as we head into McKendree's home event."
