The UIS volleyball team fell 3-0 to Missouri-St. Louis on Friday night on the road. The Prairie Stars move to 6-7 overall and 0-3 in GLVC play.

UIS started strong in the opening set, taking a 5-2 lead before UMSL went on a decisive 12-2 run. The Tritons' defense limited UIS to a negative hitting percentage, and UMSL closed the frame 25-13.

The Prairie Stars regrouped in set two, refining their attack and cutting down to just three hitting errors. UIS hit .192 in the set, compared to UMSL's .500, but the Tritons' 20 kills proved too much to overcome as they took the set 25-16.

UIS continued to battle in the final frame, tallying 11 kills to UMSL's 17 while keeping attack errors even at five apiece. The Tritons ultimately held on for a 25-19 win to complete the sweep.

Makenna Cox led the UIS offense with seven kills, while Erica Sledge followed with six kills and added four assists and seven digs while hitting an efficient .545. Madison Siefken chipped in five kills, and libero Tuana Yuce anchored the back row with six digs and two aces.
