UIS men's soccer fell 2-0 to Lewis on Friday night at in Romeoville, Ill.
The Flyers took the lead in the 15th minute after UIS goalkeeper Edoardo Pinna was called for a foul in the box, leading to a penalty kick that Mikey Revell converted for the opening goal. Lewis doubled its advantage just six minutes later when Jaden Jaime finished off a pass from Revell to make it 2-0.
UIS held off further damage for the rest of the half as Pinna recorded three saves to keep the Flyers from extending their lead. The Prairie Stars generated more momentum in the second half, recording four shots on goal and earning three corner kicks. Mahomet Doucoure, Gentil Selemani, Corne Boshoff, and Josh Conrad each forced saves from Lewis goalkeeper Jeremiah Higgins, but UIS couldn't break through offensively.
Pinna finished with four saves while facing 23 total shots. UIS falls to 2-11-3 overall and 1-10-2 in GLVC play.
