The UIS men's soccer team fell 2-0 to Quincy on Friday night at Kiwanis Stadium. With the result, the Prairie Stars move to 1-3-1 overall and 0-2 in GLVC play.

The opening stretch was evenly played, with both sides creating chances and the goalkeepers stepping up to keep the match level. A single yellow card was issued in the first 39 minutes before tensions rose late in the half, when each team was booked once more.
Just before the halftime whistle, Quincy broke through with only a second left on the clock. The Hawks doubled their advantage seven minutes of game time later, scoring unassisted early in the second half.
From there, both teams continued to push forward and test the goalkeepers. UIS outshot Quincy 13-9, placing eight on target, while the Hawks put eight of their nine attempts on frame.
Joe Brudnak started in net for the Prairie Stars and finished with six saves.
