Dr. Jae Yom, an Assistant Professor in the School of Health Sciences at the University of Illinois Springfield, holds a Ph.D. in Exercise Science with a concentration in Biomechanics from the University of Georgia. His research interests include landing/cutting biomechanics related to anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) injuries, gait biomechanics for total knee arthroplasty (TKA), and postural control. Recently, Dr. Yom has made significant contributions through collaboration with the Neuromuscular Biomechanics and Health Assessment Laboratory at Ohio University. His involvement in projects such as cognitive dual-task landing and virtual reality (VR) landing biomechanics, funded by the Department of Defense (DOD) Orthopedic Research Program, showcases his dedication to advancing the understanding of biomechanics in various applications.
