UIS Chancellor Naomi B. Lynn Distinguished Chair in Lincoln Studies

This fund is used to support the Chancellor Naomi B. Lynn Distinguished Chair in Lincoln Studies at UIS. It is used to support a faculty position in Lincoln Studies in the Department of History in the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences. The Department of History shall nominate the individual who will hold and occupy the Chair. The Chairholder shall be appointed for a specific term and shall have expertise in the scholarly study of Abraham Lincoln and the Civil War era. It is expected that the Chairholder would enhance the ongoing enterprise of Lincoln research and would be an outstanding teacher and effective communicator both in the classroom and in the wider public arena.
