For more than 40 years, Star Parties have hosted community members of all ages to view celestial objects. Associate Professor Dr. John Martin says, “Astronomy can help kids look at science in a different and more exciting way – a way that can turn into something big later.” The UIS Observatory plans to make much-needed renovations, including better accessibility.
