Cort Ross and Madelyn Miller each ran top conference marks in the 10,000 meter run on Thursday night at separate meets. Ross raced in section one of the 10K at the Raleigh Relays in Raleigh, N.C. while Miller competed in section two at the WashU Distance Carnival in St. Louis, Mo. 

Cort Ross finished 7th in a heat of 40 finishers in a new personal best time and NCAA provisional mark of 29 minutes and 23 seconds. It is the second-best men's outdoor track and field 10K in program history and the best men's 10K performance by a GLVC athlete so far this season. 

Madelyn Miller is also near the top of the conference, ranking second after opening her season with a 10K time of 36 minutes and 39 seconds to improve her personal record by nearly three minutes. 

The men's and women's track and field teams will compete at the WashU Distance Carnival throughout the day on Friday before wrapping up the weekend at the Illinois State Redbird Challenge on Saturday.
