Prompted by feedback from members of our U of I community, a system-wide group is working to add “Middle Eastern or North African (MENA)” as an option for an individual’s race or ethnicity in our University systems. The option to document “MENA” as your racial or ethnic identity in My UI Info is now available. Updates to the University’s student systems will be communicated separately at the appropriate time.
To make changes to your profile:
- Log in to My UI Info using your NetID and Password.
- Select the Edit button in the Race/Ethnicity Status section of the page.
- Select the appropriate group(s) to identify yourself based on race.
- Select Submit to save your changes.
The availability of this designation facilitates the representation of our MENA population in our internal systems and data sets, which in turn makes the processes that draw from our institutional data more accurate and meaningful. All employees, regardless of racial identity, are highly encouraged to log into My UI Info to review and update their demographic information.
