Dissertation: "Public school districts: A study of IASB civic engagement training and school board governing perspectives"

Bio: Lyle A. Rigdon is a member of the 2013 cohort. Mr. Rigdon is an Adjunct Professor in the UIS Teacher Education Program and is a retired public school superintendent and administrator. His dissertation research is entitled “Public-School Districts: A Study of IASBCivic Engagement Training and School Board Governing Perspectives.” Given his long tenure as a school administrator, and close association with public school boards, Mr. Rigdon has a keen interest in the framework and strategies required for local public agencies (in this case, school boards) to engage their local community in a more efficient, productive, and authentic manner.
