The University of Illinois Springfield baseball team won a back and forth contest against Rockhurst on Friday. No. 17-ranked UIS improves to 10-4 on the year while Rockhurst drops to 8-4 on the season.

  • UIS took an early lead through TJ Yakimisky on a fielding error by RU's second baseman to bring in Jackson Blemler

  • Mack Clark then hit a 2 RBI single 

  • Ivan Dahlberg hit a sacrifice fly to make it a 4-0 lead before the first out

  • RU scored once in the bottom of the first to make it 4-1

  • Rockhurst hit a homerun in the second inning to make it 4-2

  • UIS added two runs in the third on a balk by the pitcher and Johnny Colombo stealing home to make it 6-2

  • Rockhurst tied the game on back to back doubles to make it 6-6 in the fifth inning

  • The Stars got out of a jam in the eighth as Adam Wibbenmeyer struck a Hawk out with runners on second and third
