Perseid Meteor Star Party on August 12, 2022 from 8:30-10pm at Lincoln Memorial Garden

Please joins us to view the annual Perseid Meteor Shower from the Cawley Meadow at Lincoln Memorial Garden on August 12 from 8:30-10pm (weather permitting). John Martin (University of Illinois Springfield Professor of Astronomy-Physics) will be give tours of the sky and answering questions and the Sangamon Astronomical Society will be sharing views through their telescopes.

People attending the event at Lincoln Memorial Garden should park in the spaces just off East Lake Shore Drive. Observing will be done in Crawley Meadow across the street from the nature center. The event is outdoors so attendees are encouraged to wear bug repellant, dress appropriately for the weather and bring lawn chairs or blankets to sit on.
