* How do I know if I am a First Generation (1st Gen) student?  You are a 1st Gen if:

      - Neither of your parents earned a bachelor's degree;

      - If your parents have a bachelor's -but attended an online degree program, or as earned it when they were an adult

* What's a Peer Mentor you ask?

Peer Mentors are UIS 1st Gen students just like you. They have attended UIS for at least one year. A Peer Mentor is someone who will meet with you on a regular basis, to help you set and meet goals that you would like to achieve from the Peer Mentor relationship like: helping you get connected to the UIS community by attending activiities together, meet other students, navigate the UIS campus and processes, de-stress, have fun, and/or give you tips on academics.

* I don't know if i want a Peer Mentor, can I come anyway to meet people?  Absolutely!
