FAFSA 2024-25 Update message

We wanted to share some crucial updates regarding financial aid for the 2024-25 academic year (the aid year beginning Fall 2024).
The 2024-25 FAFSA is now open for submission. If you haven’t already, we highly recommend that students complete the FAFSA as soon as possible to maximize eligibility for all available aid. Remember, some grant programs operate on a first-come, first-served basis, so don't delay.
However, we're aware that there are some known issues with the FAFSA this year. For details on these issues and available workarounds, please visit the 2024-25 FAFSA Issue Alerts website. Please note that even if the FAFSA has been processed, students and contributors may still be unable to make corrections at this time.
While students can't edit the FAFSA, they can check its status in the FAFSA Submission Summary on Studentaid.gov. Students may log in and visit the "My Activity" section to see the details. This will help students identify any errors once the ability to submit corrections becomes available.
Federal Student Aid (FSA) began processing FAFSAs in mid-March, and schools began receiving data files around March 15. However, FSA recently identified errors in processing some applications, leading to further technical challenges. As a result, the processing timeline for applications and the delivery of estimated aid offers for the 2024-25 academic year will be considerably delayed.
