Two UIS women's track and field athletes took on the 800-meter run Friday evening at the IC Hilltop Classic in Jacksonville, Ill.
Meet Recap
Norah Wright and Kali Gaden raced in the same heat of the 800 meters, competing against a field that included WashU athletes on the 200-meter flat track.
Wright posted her best time of the year, finishing 10th in 2:23.38. Her converted time of 2:21.75 currently ranks 20th in the GLVC, putting her just outside the top 18 for conference qualification, pending additional weekend results and championship declarations.
Gaden also recorded her best indoor time of the season, crossing the line in 2:25.66 to place 13th.
The meet featured competitors from GLVC programs, including Truman State, Quincy, and Missouri-St. Louis, but none posted faster times than the UIS duo.
