For the second time this year, UIS women's track & field standout Madelyn Miller has been named the Jimmy John's Athlete of the Month. After first earning the honor in January, Miller reclaimed the title in March following a string of record-breaking performances on the track.

Miller, a junior distance runner, delivered an exceptional month of competition, beginning with a runner-up finish in the 5,000-meter race at the GLVC Indoor Track & Field Championships for All-GLVC honors.

At the NCAA Division II Indoor Track & Field Championships, Miller shattered the UIS school record in the 5,000 meters with a time of 16:38.16, placing 10th overall. Her effort earned her second team All-American honors, making her the first All-American in UIS women's indoor track & field history.

As the outdoor season began, Miller quickly picked up where she left off. She opened with a school-record 10,000-meter time of 34:29.52 at the WashU Distance Carnival. Competing in the event's fastest heat, she placed third, and by the end of the weekend, her time ranked fourth in all of NCAA Division II.

All Jimmy John's Athlete of the Month honorees from the 2024-25 year will first be recognized for their achievements at the annual Night of Stars banquet on April 28, which will be streamed live on the GLVC Sports Network. They will also be considered for the UIS Male Athlete of the Year and UIS Female Athlete of the Year awards, the highest individual honors in UIS Athletics.
