The UIS Softball team split two Sunday games against Missouri S&T in Springfield at the UIS Softball Complex. UIS moves to 18-12 on the season with a 2-2 mark in GLVC play. S&T moves to 10-18 overall with a 1-3 record in conference play.
GAME ONE (W, 6-4)

S&T took the lead back in the 2nd on a sacrifice fly

The Stars once again tied the game in their half-inning as Adi Rumler singled to left field to bring in a run

Taylor Zawacki hit a two-run bomb in the third to give UIS a lead

Rosie Bartletti helped herself with a sacrifice fly to bring in another run

Olivia DeLuca added to the lead with an RBI triple to make it 6-2

The Miners looked to start a comeback in the 6th with a two-RBI double to cut the UIS lead to 6-4

The Miners weren't able to push across any more runners as UIS earned the win, 6-4

Rosie Bartletti (6-2) earned the win in the circle, going 5.1 innings with 4 earned runs and 6 strikeouts

GAME TWO (L, 3-7)

S&T once again took a lead in the first inning, this time with two separate RBI singles to give the Miners a 2-0 lead

The Miners added more runs in the second inning on an error, an RBI single, and a wild pitch to make it 5-0 S&T

Ella Brinkley got the Stars on the board in the 3rd

An RBI double by Sophie Margelot in the fourth made it 5-2

Another RBI double, this time by Jacy Watts made it 5-3

UIS continued to threaten, but wasn't able to plate any more runs

S&T added some insurance runs in the seventh, scoring on a fielder's choice and an RBI single

The Miners walked away as 7-3 winners to earn their first GLVC win of the year
